So if we’re not here to work or not here to procreate, and if religion or spiritual beliefs does not answer our meaning to life, and for some of us we may not even know what even makes us happy, Then… What’s the point of any of this?…

I’ve been through these spiral of thoughts my whole life, and have had to tackle this without much guidance which led me into moments of depression and feel like I’m going insane but to summarise…

You give your life meaning.

There is not one way to live life – we can do whatever we want as long as we’re not moving with ego and harming each other, and always being mindful on how we may be harming others in anything we may do.

We can strive in our passion whether that be a career, hobby or interest. We can decide to raise a family considering we’ll move with unconditional love, emotional maturity and selflessness. We can be content and not want much out of life, and that’s okay. We can go back to studying to pursue that passion we once thought about. We can earn for a mortgage and create our dream home. We can live lives in solitude. We can live lives without having a partner and be single. We can still live with our parents and be family orientated. We can travel and explore the world. We can ‘just be’.

We can do whatever we like as long we’re mindful on how what we do is impacting the planet, and as long as we’re not living by someone else’s expectations and living for ourselves, not for others.

We have to stop stressing over belief systems that we just made up. Everything is made up.

One thing we humans need to remember is that our set goal will eventually be fulfilled, so don’t rush. Embrace every step of our journey and step back into the moment of ‘doing’ rather than rushing towards the end goal. That tiny bit of perfection to strive in everything we do for ourselves and no one else, with nothing to prove to anyone will inspire everyone around us with a radiance of positive energy – such an underrated thing that’s needed for us humans as a collective.

We will all have different phases in our life, and that’s life. Life is not the same for everyone. The typical life path which used to be get a degree, get job, get a mortgage and raise a family is no longer the norm.

What is happiness?

Happiness is subjective but one saying I really liked from Shi Heng Yi which answers the questions on happiness.

I totally resonate with this as happiness can be a temporary feeling and acceptance on all forms will result in inner-peace (that’s acceptance in yourself, your situation, how this world works etc). So it’s not happiness we are chasing, it’s peace.

Lets normalise not telling others how to live their life.
